The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The target is marked for death by the family.

This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.

Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
